Kurt Andersen - Project Manager
Kurt comes to CJA with a broad range of construction and design experience, staring his career in the late 70’s with a degree in Architecture from the University of Nebraska. He moved to the Seattle area in the early 90’s, and his work includes affordable housing, high-density mixed-use projects, as well as custom single-family homes across most of the western United States and Hawaii. Kurt has a passion for art and collecting, managing over the years to assemble an eclectic blend of pieces ranging from French Art Nouveau to Mexican Surrealism. His other interests include surf kayaking, casual bike touring, playing blues harmonica, vinyl, and tube amplified stereo equipment. As a designer he survived a brief flirtation with Post Modernism but now finds most of his inspiration in the traditions of Japanese architecture, Northwest Modernism and the vibrant colors found in the works of Mexican architect Luis Barragan.
